I am running.......



Training to run the Inaugural Illinois Marathon on Abril 11 is in progress. As you can see my longest mileage so far was 14 miles (22km) last Friday. It's also the first time I run outdoors (thank God!). As mentioned on previous posts due to really low temperature and because of a bad case of bronchities I have been running in a 300meter indoor track and to be honest it was driving me insane. I did 12 miles on that track the previous week which is about 12 laps each mile. So, in resume I did 144 laps. Let me tell you: it was not fun at all but I did it.

So this past Friday the weather really improved to my and everyone's amazement and happiness. I was not really looking for doing 14 miles on that track. So, knowing that Friday was going to be around 30°F, which was almost umbelieveble for us in this part of the midwest to have this kind of temperature in February Mark and I decided to drive to Morton Arboretum to train on hills. We logged in a 14 strong miles with an average pace of 8:51/mi which was actually pretty good considering the hills. Below are my next few weeks running routine: From now on the long runs are getting harder and harder...

This week:
Mondays - 6-7 miles easy follow by ABS workout
Tuesdays- Speedwork and stretching class
Wednesdays- 8-9 miles pace and stretching class
Thrusdays - Cross Training follow by light weight lifting
Fridays- 6 miles followed by ABS workout
Saturday - 11 miles follow by stretching
Sunday - Rest day

Next week
Mondays - 6-7 miles easy follow by ABS workout
Tuesdays- Speedwork and Stretching
Wednesdays- 8-9 miles pace and stretching class
Thrusdays - Cross Training follow by light weight lifting
Fridays- 6 miles followed ABS workout
Saturday - 17 miles follow by stretching
Sunday - Rest day

Olá Sandrinha, boa tarde amiga, pelo visto to vendo que vc tá treinando muito hein.
Olhando os seus treinos to vendo que vc fará uma bela Maratona de Ilinois é isso ae amiga também estou torcendo por vc. Fico contente em saber que a temperatura ai tenha melhorado para vcs treinarem.
