Returning from Vacation

<

I’m m back from two weeks of sun, warm weather and lots of fun in Brazil. Two weeks was not enough time to see everyone or do everything I had planned. My days were filled with lunches and dinners here and there with family members; a few nights out with friends, and also lots of time on the beach, which by the way, is my favorite thing to do. Also spending time with my niece Isabelle and Nephew Bruno was another memorable time I had in Brazil. I have posted here pictures of Isabelle and Bruno. They are the "apples of my eyes". I just adore them.

Now I am back to my reality and I am not so happy about it. That’s the downside of going on vacation. I always get depressed for a few weeks after returning. It’s hard to go back to a routine especially hard to come back to such hard winter.

First of all, I came back to one of the worse winter in Chicago. I could not have picked a worse time to return. When the plane touched down at O’Hare airport first thing I noticed was a lot of snow on the ground and a freezing temperature. My first thought was "oh my God! I don’t want to do this!" "I want to go back to Rio"!

Reality is finally sinking in. I’m back and that's it. I must move on and get used to the idea that winter is here and it will be a long one.

The positive side of my returning is seeing my husband after what seemed an eternity. I really missed my hubby and realized that a vacation without him is just not the same. I am also happy to be back to my regular exercising routine.

Monday was my first day back to the gym after two long weeks inactive. My workout consisted of 4 miles on a treadmill, plus half hour class of Kick Box and 20 minutes of abs exercise.

I was hoping to be able to run outdoors in order to get back in shape before training for a marathon in April starts; however the weather is not cooperating. Temperature has been in the negatives since my return which is preventing me from running outdoors so I have not other choice other than run on a treadmill.

The rest of the week I have being doing pretty much the same; running as long as I can on the treadmill. It’s boring as hell but what choice do I have?

Today, Friday, is even worse as far as weather goes. It’s minus 17 degrees. It’s so freaking cold here! I really miss my days in Rio…..

Tomorrow I am planning on going shopping for warm clothing and running shoes to face training outdoors in a dead winter. It will be hard but I will do it anyway.

Will keep you all posted on my training days during this very cold winter. All for the sake of running a marathon in April. I guess I do love to run or am completely nuts.
